Whether you’re looking for a quick getaway or a long-awaited trip to the sunny islands, choosing a high-end hotel can elevate your entire Caribbean vacation. These stays typically come with a higher price tag, but often include food, drinks and first-rate amenities that add exceptional value. And if you use points to cover some or all of your trip, you can significantly lower your out-of-pocket costs.

To give you a sense of the cost, we checked prices for the night of Dec. 1, 2025. Here are some of the region’s most luxe resorts.

1. Hotel Mousai Cancun

(Photo courtesy of Preferred Hotels & Resorts)

Part of the Preferred Hotels & Resorts group, Hotel Mousai Cancun is an adults-only all-inclusive getaway facing the shoreline. It has a beautiful pool near the lobby and another on the roof. Guests also have full access to the restaurants and pools at the Garza Blanca sibling property next door.

By joining Tafer Rewards, you can book a room for $410 or get the all-inclusive rate for $554, which can significantly reduce the overall costs by including all of your food and beverage expenses. You can also redeem Choice Privileges points to stay at a Preferred Hotels property. Cardholders who earn American Express Membership Rewards, Capital One Miles or Citi ThankYou points can transfer their points to Choice.

All rooms here are two-room suites with a small kitchenette, a living room with a sofa bed and a furnished balcony. You won’t have to pay for breakfast or book an extra room for the kids, and the resort has a lovely pool and tunnel for direct beach access. With all of these inclusions, the starting $409 nightly rates can be a good deal. You can also book with Hilton rewards, but at 181,000 points per night, it’s a low-value redemption.

Back at the resort, glamorous swimming pools and a sprawling beach add to the fun. The resort has a stunning beachfront location, numerous pools and tasty dining. With all food and beverages included, the $685 nightly rate for two people can be a good value. If you paid with rewards, it would be 88,000 points.

The Sheraton Puerto Rico Resort & Casino is adjacent to the convention center as well as Distrito T-Mobile, a popular shopping center with restaurants, shops and a cinema.
