On a recent trip to London, I had the absolute pleasure of staying at the Radisson Blu London, Mercer Street, tucked right in the beating heart of Covent Garden. It’s one of those areas that never fails to charm — full of cobbled streets, boutique shops, colourful theatres, and that unmistakable hum of London life that makes you feel you’re somewhere truly special.
The hotel itself sits quietly on Mercer Street, just steps away from Seven ![]()
Dials, where seven pretty streets meet in a whirl of independent cafés, artisan bakeries, and small theatres. It’s the sort of place where you can wander for hours and still find something new around every corner — and returning “home” to the Radisson at the end of the day felt like walking into a pocket of calm elegance.
From the moment I arrived, the staff couldn’t have been more welcoming. There’s a real warmth to the team here — not the polished, scripted kind of service you sometimes find in luxury hotels, but genuine friendliness and care. They greeted me by name, helped with my bags, and offered plenty of local tips on where to eat and what to see. The concierge Ed was gracious and very warm, making us instantly feel genuinely welcomed, and this treatment extended to the friendly staff at the desk.
My room was spotless and beautifully presented — crisp white sheets, thoughtful lighting, and a view that reminded me why Covent Garden is such a beloved part of London. Every detail was immaculate; it’s clear the housekeeping team take real pride in their work.

That evening, I dined at Monmouth Kitchen, the hotel’s elegant restaurant, and it was nothing short of sensational. The concept blends Italian and Peruvian influences — an unexpected pairing that absolutely works. I started with their crispy peppered calamari with ají panka mayo: perfect and practically melted on the tongue. Then we went for perfectly cooked king prawns in a gorgeous fragrent seasoning (pictured): sweet with freshness and underscored with notes of tamarind and lime, leaving your palate excited for more. From these entrees to the beef ribs which we just about finished, every dish was a small work of art, bursting with flavour and freshness. The service, again, was impeccable — attentive, warm, and perfectly timed. Our server Matteus was charming and helpful without being intrusive: he selected and suggested dishes and drinks he thought we’d love, and we loved every single mouthful and every single cocktail he recommended. He helped to make the dining experience a special and memorable evening for me and my partner: we felt treated and happy, and what more can you ask?
Partway through my stay, I had a bit of a funny turn — one of those unexpected moments when you suddenly don’t feel quite yourself. The reception staff’s response was extraordinary. Within moments, they were by my side with water, concern, and quiet reassurance. They made sure I was comfortable, checked in on me later, and handled the situation with such kindness that it genuinely touched me. It reminded me that great hospitality isn’t just about luxury — it’s about humanity. So thanks to concierge Ed and his marvellous team for going that extra mile.
Breakfast was another faultless part to the stay, with high quality produce, catering amazingly to my dairy allergy. All very fresh and well presented and with a vast array of everything imaginbeable. I would reccomend giving yourself time to really enjoy this part of your stay. The granolla and nut bar were really diverse and the options of smoked salmon on the continental breakfast give you an idea of how well considered it all was.
When I checked out, I left not just impressed, but genuinely moved by the experience. The Radisson Blu London, Mercer Street manages to blend five-star polish with real heart — a rare and beautiful combination. The location, cleanliness, food, and above all, the people, made it a stay I’ll never forget.
If you’re planning a London getaway — whether for work, theatre, or a well-earned weekend of indulgence — do yourself a favour and book a stay here. It’s proof that a hotel can be both luxurious and human, and it’s a shining example of what London hospitality should be.
