Lucie Blanchet, Executive Vice-President of Personal Banking and Client Experience, will retire after 23 years with the institution and transition to a new role as strategic advisor to CEO Laurent Ferreira.

Ferreira thanked Blanchet for her “significant contributions over the past two decades,” noting she was instrumental in making the bank “a leader in client experience.”

Her successor, Julie Lévesque, currently Executive Vice-President of Information Technology and Operations, will take over leadership of Personal Banking while continuing to oversee technology and operations strategy for Personal and Commercial Banking.

Ferreira called Lévesque “a seasoned banking executive recognized for her transformational leadership, collaborative approach and innovation,” adding that “she is well-positioned to optimize the Bank’s operational and technological levers as we evolve our personal banking model and solutions offering, with a focus on increased efficiency and accelerated growth.”

Other changes include expanded oversight for Wealth Management head Nancy Paquet, who will now lead investment distribution and insurance, and for Capital Markets lead Étienne Dubuc, who will take charge of the National Bank Independent Network. General Counsel Dominic Paradis will add enterprise technology, resilience, and cybersecurity to his responsibilities.

National Bank said the adjustments will not affect its financial reporting.
